RAJKOT, India (AP) — Off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin is set to re-join the Indian team on day four of the third test against England, even as the host's gained a dominant position in the game.

a family medical emergency

. The BCCI confirmed on Sunday morning that the spinner had since travelled back to Rajkot and will participate in the remainder of the match.

Meanwhile, Shubman Gill fell nine runs short of a hundred as India reached 314-4 in 82 overs at lunch on day four. It now leads England by 440 runs.

The hosts resumed Sunday at 196-2 and added 118 runs in the morning session spanning 31 overs.
